Airfix 1/72-scale North American F-51D Mustang

The Mustang was a game-changer when it entered service in 1942.  Thanks to its Packard V-1650-7 engine, its long range, and its six .50-caliber guns, the Mustang finally gave the Allies an escort fighter that could accompany bombers on daylight raids deep into German territory.  

This kit is a representation of the Korean War-era F-51D, and can be built as either Kentucky Air National Guard or Republic Of Korea Air Force versions.
