Airfix 1/72-scale Messerschmitt Me262A-1a/2a

The Me262 was the world's first operational jet-powered fighter plane, and it could have been a war-winning aircraft, had a certain Austrian megalomaniac not insisted on redesigning it as a bomber.  That interference, coupled with material shortages during the later stages of the war, kept the 262's impact to a minimum.

This kit can be built as the "Stormbird" bomber version, with hardpoints under the nose for two 500kg bombs, or as the "Swallow" fighter version.
